FC Account

Usually FC account can be opened in USD/GBP/Euro/Yen currency. The account can also be operated by the mandate of the account holder. Account fund remains in foreign currency but it can be encashed in Bangladesh in local Currency.

  • Normally account can be opened with currency USD, GBP, Yen, EURO.
  • Deposit can be made in foreign currency only (Cash, Drafts or transfer from other FC Accounts).
  • Cash can be withdrawn in local currency.
  • Fund Remittance (in both LC and FC) to any place in and out of the country approved by Bangladesh Bank.
  • Fund can be used to make investment in Wage Earners’ Development Bond.
  • International Debit/Credit Card can be linked with USD currency.

Who can open FC Account

  • Bangladeshi nationals residing abroad
  • Foreign nationals residing abroad or in Bangladesh
  • Foreign firms registered abroad & operating in Bangladesh or abroad
  • Foreign missions and their expatriate employees
  • Resident Bangladeshi nationals working with foreign/international organizations operating in Bangladesh provided their salary is paid in foreign currency

Required Documents

FC Accounts documents for Bangladeshi Nationals

  • Completed Account opening form signed by the account holder/s and introduced by an existing customer who has a relationship with concern bank at least for 6 months.
  • Copy of first six pages of passport. (Photocopy of document must be certified as ‘Original seen/sighted’).
  • Copy of work permit/service contract/proof of self-employment or business/copy of residence permit.
  • Documented proof of address verification.

FC Accounts documents for Foreign Nationals

  • Completed Account opening Form signed by the account holder/s and introduced by an existing customer who has a relationship with the concerned bank for at least for 6 months.
  • Copy of 1st six pages of passport and relevant page with more than 6 months visa of staying in Bangladesh. (Photocopy of document must be certified as ‘Original seen/sighted’).
  • Form QA – 22 (in duplicate)
  • Copy of work permit (where applicable)
  • Documented proof of address verification
